I did not sleep well last night (I get REALLY stuffy and cough a lot at night..even with medicine) so I woke up exhausted and not feeling the best. Then, I had my first “intestinal problem” in China..and I think I will just leave it at that. I have no idea if it was something I ate or just my stomach finally catching up with the different food. Anyway, I decided it was not a good idea to get on public transportation for an hour and a half without a bathroom on board. Turns out it wasn’t a big deal at all and I probably could have gone to school, but the thought of risking needing a bathroom and not having one was not a risk I was willing to take. I felt AWFUL about missing school again but also thought it could be catastrophic (drama queen I know!) AND even if I got to the school without any problems, what if I was teaching, or had to explain my situation to everyone and have them translate! Haha! Anyway it just seemed like I should lay low and I was actually feeling better.
It was well into the afternoon and I didn’t need to use the bathroom like I did before, but still had that “my tummy doesn’t feel great” feeling. I hope that was the most polite way to put my morning into words! I did enjoy the extra sleep, especially because I am ready to get over this cold and I barely slept last night.
I spent the afternoon at Costa Coffee catching up with emails and still trying to find a guide! I got my blueberry muffin (still dry but excellent) which was great because I hadn’t eaten all day. I was back in the hostel by late afternoon and did some laundry and took a shower to get ready for the night. But at around 5ish, my intestinal problems were back, in a BIG way! Ugh it was awful AND I was even more bummed because the one night I had plans I was sick! Imodium and Pedialyte became my new best friends and I spent the night in my PJs researching things to do in Beijing. Besides the intestinal problems it actually wasn’t a bad night and I enjoyed doing nothing.
I am still working on the pictures as well as my mailing address! I am hoping to get an address for Vietnam; although I just found out I will be moving locations after the first week. But once I get there I am going to ask EVERYONE until I get an address! I will only be in Cambodia (at a home stay) for 2 weeks so that isn’t really enough time and then hopefully the address for Thailand made sense!
Hugs and kisses from the bathroom (gross I know)!

Hey Jules -- Sorry to hear about your intestinal turmoil. I'm glad you didn't go to school. Imagine how the kids would have giggled at morning exercises if you had to make a beeline for the bathroom. I hope the 'western' stall was available for you when you needed it. :-)
